Phew! Well we had our first event last night, a joint one hosted by Rosalind and me, the Bookclub Fest. Around 40 people came, all enthusiastic readers and some clearly Bookclub regulars. The Summer Reading Challenge is a pivot for developing better joint literacy work between libraries and schools. Created and run by The Reading Agency with libraries, this year’s Summer Reading Challenge had the highest rate of involvement ever with 97% of UK library authorities participating.

Tom Stoppard on the Belarus Free Theatre
British playwright Tom Stoppard introduces the Belarus Free Theatre at Free Word Centre.
