Writers in Residence
As London's international literature house, Free Word runs a Writer in Residence programme. In 2011 our resident writer was Rachida Lamrabet (b. 1970), a Belgian author of Moroccan origin. She works as a lawyer for the Centre for Equality of Opportunity and Opposition to Racism in Brussels. Her first novel is Woman Country (2007). As part of her residency, Rachida corresponded with novelist Neel Mukherjee, who was in residence at Brussels literature house Passa Porta.
