Innovation, diversity, risk-taking

One of the primary aims of Free Word is innovation. Borrowed from innovative industries, the Concept Lab will be a place for bouncing around exciting new ideas, spotting trends, taking risks, finding links and inventing models. Ideas once identified will be tested and then, if proven workable, worked up to project proposal level. Such a project would carry a Free Word kite mark.

The Concept Lab’s competency comes from the collective wisdom of the participants, which Free Word orchestrates and manages. Calibre is critical, as is diversity; participants should come from many different sectors and industries

Work in the Concept Lab can be of many different kinds: seminars and debates (long or short, with few people or many); performance and film; collaborative work across the sectors – these are just a few examples of what might be used to try out new ideas.

Contact the Director of Free Word if you’re interested in proposing ideas for the Concept Lab.
